Dak Prescott impressed the sports world in 2016, when he threw for 3667 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. He led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record, won the NFC East, and claimed the 1st seed in the NFC playoffs. In fact, I think the Cowboys have completely forgotten about Tony Romo! But this week, everything changes. Dak and the Cowboys are hosting the roasting hot Green Bay Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, and the strong Packers defense. You may be wondering why I picked Green Bay to win, even though Dallas already beat Green Bay 30-16, at Lambeau Field???
I picked the Green Bay Packers to defeat the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday because, Dak Prescott is a rookie. Rookie quarterbacks do not have a good history of playing good playoff football. In fact, no rookie single-caller has ever won a Super Bowl! Even the best rookies fell short! Big Ben, Dan Marino, and even Russell Wilson all fell short, despite putting up fantastic statistics in their rookie seasons, and starting long, fruitful careers. Big Ben and Russ both went on to win Super Bowls, and Dan Marino is a Hall-of-Famer, not to mention one of the best quarterbacks we’ve ever witnessed!
The Cowboys have other talent on their squad than Dak Prescott. They have Ezekiel Elliott hurdling over the competition, Dez Bryant catching bombs, and Byron Jones and Sean Lee racking up tackles. The Packers have Ty Montgomery running the rock, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams making plays, and a fanatstic run defense led by Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, Nick Perry, and Mike Daniels. Don’t get me wrong, the Cowboys will score points. Ezekiel Elliott will run wild, and Dak will make some good throws, but in the end, Aaron Rodgers will take over the game, and the Packers defense will limit the Cowboys offensive fireworks. Dak is not ready for the playoffs, yet. The Packers will win 35-24, but don’t fear Cowboys bandwagoners, Dak will be back.
